About 13 years ago, my parents had severe health problems and had tried about everything in the book. Then, they tried getting rid of the dairy and meat in their diet - and they were cured. It was amazing! More research found that meat and dairy isn't needed in your diet - and it actually does more harm than benefit.
I'm Vegan more-so from a Biblical standpoint... my life is centered around the Creator of the heavens and the earth - and the truth that that Creator sent his one and only son to die for me and my sins. It's pretty amazing that He loves us that much! In the Bible - God's words to us - He starts off by creating the perfect world. There are two people in this world, and they live in this incredible garden. What does God say they can eat? "Every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed."
So basically, in a perfect world, God wanted us humans to eat veggies, fruits, grains, seeds - stuff that you can grow from the ground! It's not until later, when the world is no longer perfect, that God says that if we totally have to, we can eat meat. But it's not the best thing for us. So the question arises, why wouldn't we want to eat the very best thing for us?
I can promise you, I am not missing anything by eating a plant-based diet. I can still have cakes with frosting, I can make 'cheeseburgers', ice cream, enchiladas, and oh so much more! Give it a try - eating vegan is a wonderful lifestyle: God wants us to be healthy, and this is a great way to do it!
